In recent days, thousands of refugees arrived in Germany. Naturally, they need immediate housing and local communities often use their multipurpose halls and empty industrial buildings as temporary reception centres. But these places need to be made fit for the new purpose. A very important aspect in this case is flooring – this is where WARCO’s VM15 interlocking safety paving mats come in handy. These protective rubber tiles help you quickly and easily transform any large hall into a multipurpose space that is ready to take on a considerable amount of furniture, equipment, and hundreds of users.
While planning paths in your garden or around the house, consider the material which is safe and ecological – choose rubber interlocking pavers to make an even and fall-attenuating surface. Do not be led down the garden path, though – rubber pavers are very sturdy so you can carry loads on them, e.g. in a wheelbarrow!
Rubber interlocking pavers look like typical concrete paving blocks, only they are more colourful. However, when you touch or walk on them, the difference is evident. Standing on the rubber pavers is pleasant due to the elastic, cushioning feel. Your feet are insulated from the ground by the 43 mm thick pavers – the surface is neither too hot nor too cold. “Oh, I’ll do it myself” – this bold statement can be often heard around the house when it comes to repairs and refurbishing. Installing a kitchen oven, tiling the bathroom or renovating the entire house. Your inner handyman wakes up on the very thought of hiring a local company or asking your in-laws for help.. So, you are dreaming of refurbishing your terrace? This job can be a bit of a DIY challenge but if you plan it well and apply yourself, the result may be stunning! Continue reading
WARCO offers products specially designed for car traffic, sturdier than standard terrace tiles, so you can have a modern and ecological driveway which makes also a perfect play area.
A great solution for any irregular-shaped or narrow places around the house are V043 interlocking rubber pavers or TZ40 or NF40 terrace tiles. These products are robust enough to have a car on them but also resilient enough to attenuate the impact of a child’s fall or make a comfortable leisure area. The area will have no puddles because all our products from rubber granulate are water-permeable. So, your driveway, carport or backyard will be dry and your car much cleaner. And, you are winning an extra space for a garden party or a play area!
Installing WARCO elastic flooring in a garage is not recommended, though. The tiles and pavers are water-permeable so there would be a muddy residue under the tiles which would have to be cleaned. This problem vanishes when it comes to outdoors!
Interlocking pavers can be easily installed on garden paths, which tend to be muddy. The pavers will make a non-slippery, safe and beautiful path on which you can carry garden tools, e.g. wheelbarrows. Use them on any place where there is a slipping hazard – near water containers, or where you should have easy access regardless of the season and weather.
On larger areas where children usually play and cars go only now and then, use our robust TZ40 or NF40 terrace tile (in the photo above). This tile is slightly softer than interlocking pavers and has better fall protection quality. Its underside is profiled, so water drainage is more efficient. The tile can be also used vertically on a garage or house wall as a bumper.
With both products you can use special wedge-shaped elastic edging (as in the photo) which is fastened to bound subfloors (by gluing). The edging eliminates the stumbling hazard and acts as a ramp for a parking car. For garden paths (on unbound subfloor) elastic kerb edging or palisades make the best solution.
WARCO interlocking pavers, walkway tiles and edging accessories are available in a wide selection of colours (i.e. anthracite black, brick-red, grass-green and cement-grey).

Warco rubber equine mats presented at 9th International Equine Trade Fair in Dubai
Last autumn Warco had a pleasure to participate in the prestigious Al Fares – International Equine Trade Fair in Dubai, in United Arab Emirates. There we presented our rubber floor tiles. Surprisingly, not only did our equine mats spark widespread interest but also our terrace and playground mats.
Dubai – a fascinating city of international business and breathtaking skyscrapers welcomed us warmly: 38°C on an October day. We could quickly learn that this is not a problem, as people rarely go outside and air-conditioning works in all buildings and means of transport.
The city seems to be a perfect place to hold an equine fair. In UAE, equine culture is highly developed, just as it is on the entire Arabian Peninsula. Continue reading
